ABB Legacy Wind Inverters
ABB has discontinued its range of wind inverters, and we now use solar versions of their Trio and UNO DM inverters for wind and hydro applications.
However, we sold these wind inverters for many years so data sheets and support information will be kept on this website for the time being.
Aurora / Power One HF Transformer Uno Wind Inverters 2kw & 2.5kw
The Uno 2.0kw and 2.5kw wind inverters use high frequency isolation to provide the efficiency of transformerless inverters, with the convenience of galvanic isolation – particularly where more than one inverter is used with one turbine.
The Uno inverter achieves up to 96% efficiency across a range of input voltages from 90V DC to 470V DC.
This makes it an ideal companion for smaller wind turbines, micro-hydro or where more than one inverter is required. For example, a 10kw turbine may be connected to the grid using one 6kw transformerless inverter, and two UNOs, eliminating the need to external isolation transformers. Or three 2.5kw UNOs may be used to connect a 7.5kw turbine to a three phase supply.

ABB Aurora / Power One 3kw, 3.6kw & 4.2Kw Wind Inverters
Power One / Aurora 3.6kw Transformerless Inverter
The ABB Aurora 3.0 to 4.2kw range of inverters are light, compact and efficient, delivering up to 96.5% power conversion efficiency.
The inverters are transormerless, giving efficiency up to 97%. This, combined with their 16 point power curve, and operating voltage range from 50V to 600V makes them an ideal solution for small wind turbine applications.

Aurora 6kw Transformerless Wind Inverter
The Aurora 6kw wind inverter is the largest single phase inverter in the range providing a very economical power conversion for wind turbines up to 6kw, or for multi-inverter systems.
The inverter is transormerless, giving efficiency up to 97%. This, combined with its 16 point power curve, and operating voltage range from 50V to 600V makes it an ideal solution for small wind turbine applications.

Aurora 12.5kw 3 Phase Wind Inverter
The new 12.5kw three phase inverter offers a simple three phase solution for wind turbines in the 10 to 12kw range.
With a wide operating voltage range from 100V DC to 750V DC, and a safe maximum voltage of 900V DC, and efficiency of up to 97.5%, this inverter has already proven its reliability and efficiency as a solar inverter over many years. It will be delivered with certification for a number of countries which can be selected from the panel menu.

Trio Wind Inverters 20kw/27kw
The Trio Range of wind inverters, offer a simple thee phase solution for turbines up to 27kw in size.
With an operating voltage range from 175V to 800V DC, and efficiency levels of up to 98%, this inverter has already proven its reliability in the solar market.
Please note that this inverter is usually used in conjunction with the Power One 25kw Wind Interface as this provides essential data signals to drive the inverter. We can provide assistance with the development of these data signals for bespoke controllers, but in most cases, the wind interface will be required.
